A.
Structure
All hand laid with vinyl-ester tie layers,
isothalic structural resins, Divinycell core in the hull of varying densities
between 80 - 160 in the slamming areas and superlight Balsa in the deck all
held together with a grillage of substantial transverse frames and longitudinal
stiffness. Hull deck join is through bolted an aluminium toe rail and
bonded with special glue then laminated with three layers of
glass. Underwater surfaces have been epoxy coated prior to
antifouling. 5 year osmosis warranty is provided. Duplex
Stainless steel fabricated keel foil with massive keel box recessing into hull
with comprehensive wide spaced bolting structure assessed and certified by two
independent engineering groups with substantial safety margins (front two bolts completely redundant). Lead bulb
fitted with athwart ships throughbolts to keel foil inserted into bulb.
(Full structural engineering plans for the entire structure, hull, deck, keel,
rudder, chainplates etc are available on request)
B.
Internal Configuration
Entire fitout is completely molded composite
construction using divinycell and balsa core all structurally bonded to the hull
and deck with gelcoat finish and teak trim. An integral collision bulkhead
is fitted at the bow. The focsle which is secured by watertight bulkheads
and deck hatch provides excellent wet storage for sail separate to accommodation
areas. The forward Cabin is fitted with two sea berths and six storage
cubes as well as access to the head compartment. The forward cabin is
secured by a large watertight door leading into the saloon and is provided with
one deck hatch. The head compartment includes side vents, a deck hatch and
one dorade vent. The main accommodation compartment has four bunks and
seating for a dinette area with removable table. The two 250L pressure
tested aluminium fresh water tanks are located under the lower bunks. The
navigatorum is located on starboard side opposite the galley which is a
wraparound configuration with the two burner stove/oven against the hull. Aft of
the navigitorum is a large dedicated wet weather gear locker catering for 10
crew in easy reach of the companion way area to be convenient when gearing up or
coming off watch. This includes thirteen storage cubes. On the
starboard side there are two quarter berths and the port side features a
quarter cabin with sixteen storage cubes and two bunks. The engine
compartment is accessed from the skippers cabin and the starboard aft quarter
cabin by the removal of large access panels. The aft steering compartment
which also houses ships batteries is isolated from the accommodation area by way
of a watertight bulkhead.
