2002 ADVENTURE SAILING PROGRAMME

Northern Racing

2002 will see the McIntyre 55 race north in a series of events from Sydney to the Whitsunday Islands, presenting a limited number of opportunities to join a big boat campaign without the associated pressures.

Voyage 1 - Sydney-Gold Coast Yacht Race 2002

Have you ever thought of competing in a big offshore race but haven’t been able to crack a spot on the gun boats? Well, now’s your chance. The first brand new McIntyre-55 is being launched in September this year and will be racing in the Sydney - Gold Coast as the start of its northern racing campaign. This race takes us from Sydney's winter to the warm water sailing of Queensland. The race can deliver everything from winter gales to glassy calms. If you’re interested, don’t delay.

Start: July 2002

Cost: $935 inc GST

Voyage 2 - Hog’s Breath Mooloolaba to Airlie Beach Yacht Race

This is Australia’s ultimate trade wind yacht race. Starting at Mooloolaba the course runs around the top of Fraser Island and into the islands and reefs of the Great Barrier Reef. The race coincides with the migration of the humpback whales and combines the beauty of the reef with tactical issues that the reefs and currents present. Finishing at Airlie Beach in the Whitsunday Islands we are sure to receive a warm welcome at the Hog’s Breath Café.

Start: approx 10th August 2002

Cost: $990 inc GST ($500 deposit)
