EQUIPMENT LIST

Personal equipment plays an important role in maximising enjoyment and improving safety. The following equipment will be carried by all expeditioners while onboard.

• 1 pair of Sailing Gloves (recommended)
• Sailing Wet Weather Jacket (Musto HPX or equivalent)
• Sailing Wet Weather Pants (Musto HPX or equivalent)
• Sailing Boots (Musto M2 recommended)
• Personal Strobe Light.
• Integral Safety Harness to AS or equivalent.
• Safety Harness Tether Line to AS or equivalent.
• 2 of Middle Layer pants (Musto HP Bodywarmer or Polartec 200)
• 2 of Middle Layer Jackets (Musto Snug or Polartec 200 equivalent)
• 4  thermal underwear trousers
• 4 thermal underwear long sleeve tops
• 4 pairs of bulky thermal socks *
• 2 pairs of normal thermal socks
• 4 pairs of inner thermal gloves
• 2 pairs of woollen gloves *
• 2 pairs of overmits *
• Beanie
• Neck Tube
• Sun Hat
• Ski Goggles for heavy weather sailing (non Polaroid, as Polaroid reduces readability of instruments)
• Sunglasses for champagne sailing (non Polaroid, as Polaroid reduces readability of instruments)
• Sleeping Bag - minus 10 degrees Celsius synthetic
• Waterproof Personal Torch and batteries
• Towel (Paktowel) or similar
• Crew Bag
• Daypack (recommended)
• T-Shirts
• Shorts

* the items notated with an asterix are not required on the Atlantic leg.

Expedition Rates: Expedition rates are available to expeditioners on all Musto equipment from McIntyre Marine Services.

Street Clothes: A basic compliment of street clothes will be required for our time in Sydney, Hobart, Punta Del Este and Cape Town.

Personal: Sunscreen, lipbalm, moisturiser/hand cream, seasick pills, toothpaste, soap, face washer, salt-water shampoo, Walkman + batteries, camera gear etc, etc.

Medication: If you are on medication of any kind, it is recommended that you carry extra supplies in a water-tight container. Full disclosure of medication to the skipper is required.

Storage: Everything that you bring on board will need to fit into your storage cube and bunk. Your wet weather gear will hang on an allocated hook in the wet weather gear compartment. Sleeping gear will be on your bunk with one set of clothing on your body. It is recommended that clothing is packed in strong kliplock plastic bags.
