Antarctic Adventurers now turned Targa Tasmania Competitors, Don & Margie McIntyre want to take your Teddy Bear for the ride of it's life, strapped to the dash of their Peugeot rally car racing in Targa Tasmania.
This exciting opportunity is only available to the first 44 Speedy Bears who sign on at any Petrusma & Partners Real Estate office around Hobart. Bear entry fees are a minimum donation of $1 per milli-metre of Bear, measured with arms up and all money raised will go to the Children's Ward at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Corporate Bears are $2 per mm.
There are 44 special stages in Targa Tasmania which starts on May 13. Each Bear will ride up front with the McIntyres during one stage and onboard for the entire rally. At the completion of the event there will be a group photo and the McIntyres will present signed "Bear Rally Licenses", which include individual Bear photos, racing their very own "Special Targa Stage".
"Give me Bear-charges over turbo-charges any day" said Navigator Margie McIntyre, " with 44 ted-heads, look out rev-heads, we're strong".
The McIntyres have not previously been involved in motorsport but following six months of careful preparations, are now set to go.
" We've read the books, watched the videos, trained at Baskerville, completed the medical, sat the license, prepared the car, driven the reconnaissance and now we need the Bear essentials" said Don McIntyre. "Our little Peugeot 206CC is a great Targa Tasmania car- race number 906, so now it's about getting Bears to the finish line in a Targa plate time".
The McIntyres are hoping to raise around $10,000 during Targa Tasmania for the Royal Hobart Hospital, continuing a tradition of Bear Adventures to the Antarctica and Around the world.
